Seaside Space Engineers 
Do you want to be an astronaut? Do you have what it takes to build a rocket? Join us on Mondays and Fridays at 4pm and test your engineering and design skills. Children and parents can construct space-themed objects using various materials. 
Mondays, July 1 - August 26; Fridays, July 5 - August 30, 4pm

Toddler Time 
Join us for picture books, finger plays, action rhymes, and songs about outer space! This program is for children ages 18-36 months and their caregivers.

Babies & Books 
You are your child's first teacher. Enjoy our wide variety of board books, nurture preliteracy skills, meet up with other caregivers, and discover the joy of reading with your baby at the library! This program is for infants ages 6-17 months.

Straw Rockets
Design your own rocket and make it fly! Children will be the architects of their own rocket and use a straw as propulsion. After creating their rocket, we will then conduct experiments to see how angles and different materials alter their course and distance.

Galaxy Crafts
Make out-of-this-world crafts including a galaxy duct tape wallet and Star Wars origami. This program is for teens entering grades 7-12 only.

End of Summer Reading Party/Open Mic
The Seaside Library will be celebrating the terrific job all the Summer Reading participants have done at the End of Summer Reading Party! Join us for games, singing, dancing and more!

STAR Net's “Summer of Space” 
Celebrate 60 years of space exploration! The South Jamaica Community Library will be hosting the "Summer of Space" program, a series of STEM activities geared towards investigating the exploration of space.

Children ages 8-12 can learn how to knit or crochet!  *Families will be responsible for bringing the following items:

A Movie & Popcorn for Kids!  
Enjoy an easy Friday afternoon watching a good movie and enjoying some popcorn.  Feel free to bring along a drink for your child to enjoy. The following is our movie schedule:

Youth Public Speaking Workshop
Children and teens (ages 8-13) can join us for two sessions to learn how to improve and develop their public speaking skills while building their self-confidence.  Our young people will be taught by Ms. Letitea Archer, a noted teacher/facilitator in the art of public speaking. Our children/teens can practice their public speaking skills in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.

Drawing with Sherry  
Children ages 8-12 can learn the basics of drawing with Miss Sherry!  You will leave having completed a simple pencil drawing.

In this book, a girl travels through time to save her father and the universe! Join us for this Summer Reading Book Club! Check a book out at the library, read it, and then meet to discuss and make a craft for grades 3-6.
