Preschool Storytime 
All preschool children ages 3-5, and their parents and caregivers, are welcome to join us for stories, songs, rhymes, and simple crafts.

The Solar System
Through an interactive PowerPoint presentation participants will learn about the solar system and the various planets that are part of it. The reasons why Pluto is no longer a planet “and why it had it coming” will also be examined!

Stuyvesant Tutoring 
Students from Stuyvesant High School provide free ELA and Math tutoring to children entering 2nd to 5th grade. Preregistration is required as space is limited and tutors work with small groups. Sign up in person at the children's reference desk starting June 11.  Children should be able to attend all eight sessions.

Tweens and teens will work together to create, design, and write a new issue of "The North Hills Gazette." Past issues have included feature articles, book reviews, artwork, and opinion pieces. Teens who cannot attend the program in person can email their articles to northhillsqpl@gmail.com.  Please include your first name and grade.

Twilight Tales 
Children ages 18 months to 5 years and their parents or caregivers will listen to classic stories, old and new, and learn songs and finger plays. Each week, a different parent/older sibling will read to the group.  Feel free to wear your slippers and pajamas, and please bring a flashlight. Space is limited.

Film and Book Discussion: Misery
Read the novel by Stephen King and then join us for a screening of the film starring Kathy Bates, James Caan, Richard Farnsworth, and Lauren Bacall. Return the next week to compare and discuss the film and the book. Copies of the book are available at the library.

Help us build a space station in this engineering challenge at the Ozone Park library!  We will use newspaper and other upcycled materials to build our space station in the Children's Room.  Space station construction will begin 8/12/19.

Use bubble wrap painting and collage to make a turtle at this summer reading session for grades K-3.

Ground Control to Major Tom
Participants take on the role of either Ground Control (giving building instructions) or Major Tom (following the instructions and doing the building) and communicate to recreate a LEGO sculpture without being able to see what the other side has in front of them.
