Picture Book Storytime  
Bring your kids to picture book storytime and get ready to dance, sing, and hear some great stories. There's even a fun craft at the end! This is recommended for kids ages 3-6 years.

Constellation Art!  
It's a make-your-own constellation workshop! Use pictures of real constellations or make up your own! We'll be making constellations with pipe cleaners and beads, and we'll also make cool placemats for kids to take home. All ages welcome. Materials may be limited; this is a first-come, first-served workshop.

Trip to Mars!  
Let's go to Mars! There's a lot to do to prepare for a trip, though: are you ready? We'll have teams of kids plan out their own Mars mission, and roll the dice to see if they're successful! This is best for ages 5-12.

Fun Fridays! 
Cool off and celebrate Summer Reading at the Court Square Library every Friday this summer with crafts, games, Lego challenges, and movies. We will do something different every Friday!  Ages 4 and up are welcome.

My World Tween STEM 
Using their own narrative arc, participants experience personal growth as they explore, discover, and create using STEM skills. This program is for children going into grades 6, 7, & 8.  Classes run July 8-August 13 on Mondays and Tuesdays from 3-4:30pm. Registration is required for each week's two-class session.

Completed works are eligible for our end-of-summer art exhibit.

This program is for children going into grades 6, 7, & 8. Registration is required for each week's two-class sessions. Week five: create a digital design reflecting something important to you, then use 3D printing to create it. Completed works are eligible for our end-of-summer art exhibit. This program is for children going into grades 6, 7, & 8. Registration is required for each week's two-class sessions. Week six: learn how to present your story with audio narration and either a digital or physical art portfolio. Completed works are eligible for our end-of-summer art exhibit. Major support provided by New York Life Foundation, the city-wide sponsor for the Summer Reading Program.

Kid STEAM: Sphero in Space

Bead’N’Read 
Children in third through fifth grade are welcome to bead necklaces and bracelets to give their friends and family while we read a Summer Reading book list selection. This is a recurring program; we will read from the same book for several weeks in a row; regular participation is strongly encouraged.

Coding with Google CS First - Art 
Learn to code with Google CS First! In this art-themed coding club, students ages 9-14 use Scratch to create animations, interactive artwork, photograph filters, and other exciting, artistic projects. Only 12 spots are available; preregistration is required. Sign up in person at the Children's Room reference desk. Registration starts at our Summer Reading Kickoff Party on June 7.  Club members should be able to attend all eight sessions.

Students from Stuyvesant High School provide free ELA and Math tutoring to children entering 2nd to 5th grade. Preregistration is required as space is limited and tutors work with small groups. Rocket Ship Storytime
In this easy, hands-on activity children ages 3–6 will improve their fine motor skills and learn to write their name as they cut segments out of construction paper and assemble their own rocket.
