Friday Kids' Club 
Children ages 5-12, join us for a variety of fun activities each week: knitting, arts and crafts, board games, Legos, and much more! Parents, grandparents, and other adult caregivers are encouraged to join the activities!

Doctor For A Day 
Doctor For A Day is for children ages 8-12.  There are three sessions that include hands-on activities.
Session 3 - 8/3 - Learn about dental hygiene.

Mother Goose 
Children ages 6-24 months and their caregivers listen to stories and nursery rhymes, sing songs, use scarves, shakers and drums, and enjoy free play.

Family Storytime 
Families with children ages 2-5 are invited to participate in our space-themed summer reading storytime.  Sessions includes stories, songs, finger plays, movement, dancing, and crafts!

Angry Birds Event 
Children ages 6-11, watch the movie trailer for "The Angry Birds 2" movie. Build a popsicle-stick catapult and launch your own Angry Birds!  Learn facts about birds and practice drawing the Angry Bird characters.

Chess Club for Children
Come to our children's chess club and learn the game of chess! Have fun while learning a game that opens your mind to deep thought, analysis, imagination, and enjoyment. An experienced chess player will be present to provide assistance. This program is for children ages 6 to 12.

Cookie Moon Phases 
Children ages 6-11 will use books and videos to learn about the phases of the moon and what causes the moon to change.  We will discuss what we already know about the moon and what we've learned together. As a group will we research the current dates moon phase.  Children will use cookies to demonstrate the phases of the moon. A short poetry worksheet will be completed and shared with the group.

Space-themed Arts and Crafts Projects
Children ages 6-11 will have fun making Star Wars origami characters and bookmarks as well as space-themed zippered pouches, bookmarks, or wallets out of duct tape. We'll finish the session with a game of Space Bingo with prizes for the winners!

Grades 3 & 4 Book Club at Hillcrest  
Each month we will read a different book & meet to discuss our favorite and least favorite parts, main plot points, and important topics raised by that month's book. Books available at the circulation desk; please leave your name & phone number so we can tell you when the next book has arrived!

Come use our laptops for our Hour of Code gaming session! This club will focus on understanding how coding controls everything on computers & technology through gaming. This program is for kids ages 7+.

Coding For Teens  
Join us at Hillcrest Library where we will be hosting a coding club using Prenda for young people in grades 7-12. Preregistration is required. Registration will be accepted in person or by calling 718-454-2786.
