Urzua Queens Center of Performing Arts brings to you The Nutcracker “Twist." This is a classic holiday story where a dream comes to life and magic happens on stage. In this version, we add a twist that includes rhythms from around the world mixed with the Tchaikovsky’s original music we love.

The Friends of Pomonok Library Present a Kwanzaa Celebration with Songhai Djeli
Songhai Djeli presents a Kwanzaa program composed of music, poetry, and storytelling. They utilize vocals, woodwinds, and a variety of percussion instruments with a strong connection made between contemporary African-American cultural expressions and their traditional African source. They include in their presentation an explanation of the Nguzo Saba (i.e. the seven principles of Kwanzaa) along with songs and rhythms that encourage audience participation.
