Culture Connection: “A Swangin’ Christmas” With Tony-Award Winning Bandleader Bryan Carter (IN-PERSON)

“Bryan Carter Wishes You a Swangin’ Christmas” is a Holiday-themed concert reminiscent of the delightful musical television specials from the 1950’s and 60’s. Join Bryan Carter & The Swanger’s for a soulfully epic afternoon of holiday classics that the entire family can enjoy.

Concierto de Navidad con Mariachi Tapatío De Álvaro Paulino

English: Celebrate Christmas with Mariachi Tapatio de Álvaro Paulino! Founded in 1983 under the direction of Puebla-born Mexican Álvaro Paulino, they’re considered one of the finest mariachi bands in New York City. The band’s music includes “corridos,” a form of storytelling in song that is enjoyed by audiences of all ages.

Spanish: Celebra la Navidad con Mariachi Tapatío de Álvaro Paulino, fundado en 1983 bajo la dirección del Álvaro Paulino, mexicano de Puebla. Considerada una de las mejores bandas de mariachi en la ciudad de Nueva York, su música incluye corridos, una forma de narración de cuentos en canción que es disfrutado por todo el mundo!

Voices of New York, an 18-voice adult community chorus based in Manhattan, will present a program of beautiful Christmas, seasonal and Hanukkah choral music, as well as vocal and piano solos. Choral selections will include: “Christmas Comes Again,” “Christmas-Tide” (a medley of traditional carols), “Holiday Blessing,” “A Hora for Hanukkah,” “Now Is the Caroling Season,” “Rosa Mystica,” “Soon It Will Be Christmas Day,” and “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.”

3 Kings Celebration (In-person)

Christmas and New Year’s may have ended, but that doesn’t mean the holiday season is over! For Latinos, there is one more celebration! Join us to celebrate the traditional Día de Reyes with Melchior, Caspar, and Balthazar. The three kings will travel to Langston Hughes Library (on camels!) to bring gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh! Enjoy an afternoon of music and crafts, and don’t forget to bring your camera to take a picture with the Kings to remember this epic day!
