Larger Than Life Presents: A Very ‘90s Christmas (IN-PERSON)

Larger Than Life will assemble a cast of Broadway, TV, and film performers for true holiday dazzle with A Very ‘90s Christmas concert! The cast will perform timeless holiday hits, and it features dynamic singers like Edvin Ortega (“Orange Is the New Black”), Melody Rodriguez (“In the Heights”), Chris Jehnert and more. This program is funded by New York State Senator Michael Gianaris.

It’s a Holiday Jammin’ Jazz Party (IN-PERSON)

Ring in the holiday season this December with the sounds and rhythms of smooth, cool jazz. QPL’s East Elmhurst Library is the place to party with the Afro-Latineers and the Philip Hamilton Ensemble!

December 7, 1:30pm:  Experience the “sabor” of Paul Rivera and the Afro-Latineers Band. Their fusion of Latin & Jazz music blends Salsa, American Jazz standards, and Afrobeats and appeals to audiences of all ages.

December 21, 3pm:  Join the world-acclaimed Philip Hamilton Ensemble and take a journey into the very heart of the holiday season with their unique interpretation and arrangement of holiday standards. The dulcet tones and rich blend of Philip’s voice and talented band will have you dancing to percussive beats, jazz rhythms, and the sounds of R&B.

Immerse yourself in the spirit of the holiday with captivating storytelling and soul-stirring music performed by the Chutzpah Caravan Ensemble. This live performance brings the Holiday story to life through an unforgettable blend of music, featuring violin, flute, vocals, and dance. With dazzling costumes and mesmerizing special effect lighting, we’ll illuminate winter’s celebration with beloved tunes in English, Yiddish, Spanish, and Hebrew.

Celebrate the holidays with QPL’s Culture Connection Variety Show Extravaganza! Inspired by The Ed Sullivan Show, this modern twist offers music, comedy, and Broadway talent for the whole family. Music Director Charles Duke and comedienne Mia Jackson will lead the program, featuring stars from Broadway’s “A Wonderful World: The Louis Armstrong Musical”—DeWitt Fleming Jr., Jennifer Harney-Fleming, and Grammy-nominated trumpeter Alphonso Horne, who brings Armstrong’s iconic sound to life.
