Celebrate Our Freedom To Read!

National Library Week (April 7-13) is an opportunity to celebrate our freedom to read and the essential role libraries play in our communities. This year, QPL is also spotlighting banned or challenged books by hosting 6 storytimes at 6 locations with QPL and QPL Foundation board members on Wednesday, April 10 . These special guests will read aloud Maurice Sendak's Where the Wild Things Are, which has been a challenged or banned book since its publication in 1963.

At QPL, we believe that the best way to fight book banning is to read banned books! Where the Wild Things Are is available in our collections in multiple formats. We invite you to learn more about banned books at the links below.
