Save Money, E-file Your Taxes for FREE

If your 2018 income is $66,000 or less, you qualify to receive
free online tax return filing assistance.

Volunteers from the New York State Tax Department and Urban Upbound will guide you through tax preparation software available as you learn how to prepare and e-file your federal and state income tax returns at no charge.

Taxpayers must bring:

  • Driver’s license or state issued non-driver ID
  • IDNYC identification card or photo ID if you do not have a driver’s license or state issued non-driver ID
  • Copy of last year’s tax returns or your federal adjusted gross income
  • Birth dates and social security numbers for you, your spouse, and dependents
  • Income documents such as W2, 1099, and 1098
  • Healthcare statements (1095-A, 1095-B, or 1095-C)
  • Information for tax credits you will claim
  • Routing number and account number to direct deposit your refund.
