Day of the Dead Tradition 
Mexican-born artist Aurelia Fernandez will discuss ancient traditions surrounding the Day of the Dead altar and demonstrate the making of it. She will also teach attendees in this workshop how to make calaveras - clay versions of the elaborately decorated sugar skulls used in Mexico. This is a crafts program for the entire family; all ages are welcome. Space is limited and is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Protecting Cultural Heritage in Design and Fashion  
Community artist/fashion designer/stylist Joshe Ordonez explores how design and the wisdom of cultural heritage are important to the preservation and promotion of traditional techniques and practices of ethnic minority communities. Attendees will also have the opportunity to view a demonstration by an Ecuadorian artisan who will demonstrate the ancient technique of straw weaving.

Four Treasures: Chinese Opera, Dance, and Folk Music

Be inspired by the exhibit "Remember Y(our) Connection/Tandaan Ang Ating Ugnayan: Filipino Wisdom in the Face of Climate Change." Participants can share stories of how they tap into their own power, resilience, and strength (lakas ng loob), make drawings, and envision a role for themselves towards creating a sustainable world.  Everyone is welcome! Celebrate Eid and Make Rasgulla (Traditional dessert) In English and Bengali        
Rasgulla is a special sweet in Bangladesh that people eat during Eid or other special holidays. It is made from ball-shaped dumplings of “chhena” (cottage cheese) and semolina dough cooked in light syrup made of sugar. Learn how to make this delicious treat, which is also famous in other South Asian countries. This program is in English and Bengali.
