A DAY OF FUN!

Spring has sprung, so we’re enjoying the sunny days with a Spring Festival! Come to Glen Oaks Library for a day of community spirit, activities, and entertainment for all ages.

Plus, 10-year-old kids born in 2013 can take part in our special backpack and book giveaway, while supplies last! This giveaway marks the 10th anniversary of the current Glen Oaks Library building.

Community Coloring Project

Join us in a collective community coloring project. All are welcome!

Music and Movement for Infants and Toddlers

(2nd Floor Meeting Room)
Infants, toddlers, and caregivers enjoy songs, movement, finger plays, puppets, and other activities.

12-1:30pm
Create Your Sand Art Bottle

(Courtyard)
Create one-of-a-kind designs using bright colorful sand in a bottle! Supplies are limited. First-come, first-served up to 95 children ages 5 to 11.  Must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

1-2pm
Spring Piano Concert with I-Heung Lee

(2nd Floor Meeting Room)
Classical pianist I-Heung Lee will present a solo piano concert that includes Chopin, Debussy, Mozart as well as others. Music critics have described I-Heung Lee’s performances as graceful, thoughtful, and intelligent, touched with a unique style of artistic sophistication.

Henna Painting

(Teen Area)
Join us for a celebration with simple pattern henna painting for anyone ages 6 and up. Numbered tickets will be distributed from 1pm at the Lower-Level Reference Desk. Activity is available for the first 40 guests on a strict first-come, first-served basis.

Bingo for Older Adults

(Lower Level Meeting Room)
Love playing Bingo? The Friends of the Glen Oaks Library presents an hour-long Bingo game time. First come, first served.

3-4pm
Candy Twisted Balloon Show

(2nd Floor Meeting Room)
Join Candy Twisted Balloons in this interactive combination of comedy, storytelling, and the most amazing balloon creations you have ever seen. This program is for children ages 6-12 and their caretakers. Join us for the fun!
