“Don’t be afraid to dream and pursue it. Bit by bit. That’s what I did. Word by word. Sentence by sentence.”

“There’s nothing that replaces having a neighborhood library. It tells you that literacy belongs to you, that it’s not something you have to travel on a bus, travel far to get to – that it’s in your neighborhood. It’s meant for you and you can be a part of it.”

Author
Jason Reynolds

“Reading is a way of sharing secrets. There’s a witnessing that happens. You are bearing witness to the protagonist. There are a lot of secrets that we share between the pages.”

“When I read a book about triumph and diligence and persistence all it does is remind me of my own capabilities.”
